Did Marvel Just Accidently Reveal The Actual Title Of ‘Avengers 4’?

Avengers Infinity War HulkKevin Feige, President of Marvel Studios, seems to think that the speculation surrounding the title to the fourth Avengers film has gotten completely out of hand. That hasn’t stopped fans from theorizing and now there’s a new theory that could point towards the story and title for the upcoming superhero film.

Newsarama recently questioned the addition of a ’90s comic book to the digital comic service known as Comixology. The book is titled Avengers: Forever — it’s not exactly the most iconic of the Avengers stories but it does hold some interesting parallels to the set photos we’ve been seeing from the next Avengers film. Forever seems like a fitting subtitle considering it’s truly the culmination of Marvel’s storytelling thus far. More than that, the comic book story features iconic Avengers heroes being taken from all different periods of time by Rick Jones to fight a character named the Immortus. The line-up includes Captain America, Captain Marvel, Giant Man, The Wasp, Hawkeye, Songbird and Yellowjacket.

Set photos we’ve seen from Avengers 4 feature a modern day Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) appearing at the battle of New York with Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) wearing his old Captain America costume. This could suggest a similar recruitment story through time and space to take on Thanos, but we’ll have to wait and see until the film releases next summer. Marvel has a knack for taking titles of storylines and doing their own versions, as opposed to just a straight adaptation of them. This helps keep that mystery and fresh storytelling surrounding the next installment, though they’ve typically chosen more iconic stories like Infinity War and Winter Soldier for this treatment.

Here is the synopsis for Avengers: Infinity War:

As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment – the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain.

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, the filmstars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Don Cheadle, Tom Holland, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, Peter Dinklage, Benedict Wong, Pom Klementieff, Karen Gillan, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Gwyneth Paltrow, Benicio del Toro, Josh Brolin, Chris Pratt, Danai Gurira and Letitia Wright.

10 Marvel & DC Villains Who Can Take Down Thanos

Thanos Marvel DC Comics Darkseid GalactusThanos may have just taken down some of Marvel’s finest superheroes in Avengers: Infinity War, but he’s not the deadliest villain in comics. Both DC and Marvel are full of characters who are more powerful than the Mad Titan.

Admittedly, whenever Thanos is in possession of all six infinity stones he is the most powerful being in the universe, but anyone can harness that power if they successfully gather all the necessary components. If anything, Thanos is just incredibly patient and willing to wait to achieve his goals, a trait not many supervillains in DC or Marvel have. With the gauntlet, Thanos is essentially an immortal God who can snap his fingers and turn entire worlds to dust, but without it he’s just another villain who wants to rule the universe. He’s clearly a strong and terrifying guy, but if he were to face any of these villains without his Gauntlet, Thanos would be in big trouble.
