Stan Lee, Marvel creator, accused by home-care nurses of sexual harassment

Comic book legend Stan Lee has been accused of sexually harassing several nurses who took care of him in his Los Angeles home.

The 95-year-old former president and chairman of Marvel is alleged to have repeatedly groped and harassed several female nurses, including walking around naked in their presence and asking them for oral sex in the shower, the Daily Mail reported Tuesday.

The nursing company that employed the women, which the Daily Mail declined to name, confirmed that the female proprietor had received several complaints from nurses before parting ways with Mr. Lee last year.

A source told the outlet, “He doesn’t seem to care what people think of him, he’s lost his filter. There has been a stream of young nurses coming to his house in West Hollywood and he has been sexually harassing them. He finds it funny.”

In a statement to Patch Media, Mr. Lee’s attorney Tom Lallas called the claims “false and defamatory.”

“Various anonymous individuals have attempted to extort money from Mr. Lee based on false allegations, but when we have asked them to identify themselves and provide their full legal names and contact information, they have, not surprisingly, gone radio silent,” the statement said.

Mr. Lallas sent a cease and desist letter to the owner of the nursing firm on Dec. 20, the Daily Mail reported. In a separate statement, Mr. Lallas said Mr. Lee “fully intends to fight to protect his stellar good name and impeccable character.”

“We are not aware of anyone filing a civil action, or reporting these issues to the police, which for any genuine claim would be the more appropriate way for it to be handled,” he said. “Instead, Mr. Lee has received demands to pay money and threats that if he does not do so, the accuser will go to the media. Mr Lee will not be extorted or blackmailed, and will pay no money to anyone because he has done absolutely nothing wrong.”

A new nursing company, Vitale Nursing Inc., has since stepped in to care for Mr. Lee and had nothing but good things to say about the comic book creator.

“It has been a privilege to care for him,” spokeswoman Julie Wozniak told the Daily Mail.
